Creative Curriculum: Vol. 4
The Midyear Creative Resent Workshop
Welcome back to the creative curriculum ~ a fortnightly assignment guide for anyone who wants to nurture their creativity with a little more structure and a whole lotta community.
This is the final brief (for now!) and we’re going out with a bang! I’ll be hosting a free workshop on July 7th 2026 and I want you there. Details at the end.
NYC has been outside a lot lately.
The Knicks. The World Cup. Pride. Summer finally showing up. The city feels electric right now and honestly I’ve just been trying to soak it up as much as possible.
Which felt like the right energy for our last volume. We’re going outside and we’re thinking about what comes next.
We’re also halfway through 2026, and be honest, hand on heart, how are those creative intentions you set in January going?
No judgement, because same.
So! On July 7th me and isabella (the creative mind and designer behind TART TIMES) are hosting a FREE workshop — ‘The Midyear Creative Reset’ to help turn your untouched creative intentions into an actual plan’. Details at the end!
✷
🔗 27 places to find inspo that aren't Pinterest — by Kel Rakowski. - Get outside! Get offline! Seek inspiration around you!
🔗 How to Think — Ed Boylan - Written by an MIT professor to his students on how to be creative and thoughtful in a world where problems are complex and targets keep moving.
🔗 @kevin_zych on Instagram - Illustrator based in NYC who draws life as it happens, loved his recent drawings of the Knicks atmopshere.
✷ Artists to research
🔗 Del Kathryn Barton - My all time favourite artist.
🔗 Nan Goldin - “My work has been about making a record of my life that no one can revise.”
🔗 Yasumasa Morimura - He puts himself into western classics.
Go outside and draw something.
A building. A stranger. A tree. The view from the table at your local coffee shop. It doesn’t need to be good, it just needs to be done!
Drawing forces you to actually see something: the details, the shapes, the shadows, the fact that you’ve walked past that building a hundred times and never noticed the detail above the door.
A napkin is fine, so is the back of a receipt. You don’t need a sketchbook, you just need to go! outside!
✷ THE CHALLENGE
15 minutes a day for one week.
Whether you pair this will your outside drawing, or you want to chose your own creative practice (writing, music, dancing), the challenge is to spend 15 minutes a day doing it. Whether you do it with your morning coffee, or on your lunch break or just before you go to bed, you must do just 15 minutes of something creative.
We’ve talked all curriculum about creativity being a muscle, these are the reps. The smallest possible version of a daily creative practice, just to see what happens when you show up for it every day. It isn’t about making a completed piece of work - its just practicing for 15 minutes.
And if you go for longer than 15 minutes, that’s a lovely bonus!
✷ When did you feel most creative this year so far?
✷ What’s one small thing you could do every day that would make your life feel more creative? A gesture.
✷ Visualise your dream creative life or weekend: write it out or moodboard it. How does it look and feel? What are you doing?
✷ What are you going to make and do next? What were your creative intentions at the start of the year and how are you going?
🔗 RSVP for our workshop on the 7th of July!
This curriculum started with 8 weeks of assignments and a community of people all who wanted to be more creative this year. The workshop is the finale.

Hi, I’m Eimear — creative director, brand and social strategist, and founder of Coffey Media, a brand and content studio for people highly allergic to boring thinking.
Creative Curriculum is just one part of what I do here. I’m usually talking about how to build brands that get remembered when the phone gets put down.
If you’re ready to build a brand with real voice, real edge, and real staying power, subscribe for more brand thinking or let’s work together.
I’m glad you’re here.

Yessss what a collab! Count me in 💓
Can't wait to co-host with you !!! <3
